Support for Meeting Planners
One of the main objectives of the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Convention and Visitors Bureau is to support the meeting, conventions, and incentive travel market segment. To that end the CVB offers a menu of support to facilitate organizers with the development of logistics and adequate operational infrastructure so their event is a complete success.
The CVB also offers a link to authorities and diverse service providers specializing in value chain, which is further detailed below.
A) Mission of the CVB
Promote Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo in coordination with service suppliers and with municipal, state and federal authorities, to position Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo as a quality destination with market segments and niche markets of key interest to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo with the purpose of enhancing the destination's tourist affluence, in addition to promoting the viable development of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo as a quality destination.
B) Vision
Position Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo as a viable destination considered to be the best beach destination in Mexico and in the world.
We offer free destination consulting services to organizations interested in carrying out conventions, meetings, or trade shows, of a national or international nature and in accordance with the planning stage and its specifications.
We Are:
- A Non-profit organization
- The medium for bringing events to the destination.
- The link between the various municipal authorities and private initiatives with the client.
We Are Not
- Event organizers.
- Reservations call center.
- Travel agents or Travel Management Company.
IZ-CVB Support
- Coordinate a meeting beforehand with municipal authorities, leadership, and the Director of Tourism, as well as with officials and organizations as required according to the type of convention or meeting, such as Health, Sport, Cultural, Transportation, Fire
- Fighters, Red Cross, etc.
- Directory of diverse local businesses and service providers.
- Official letters of support.
- Support with familiarization trips.
- Delivery of a Promotional destination presentation in the city where the previous meeting will be held.
- Network with professional events organizers/ meeting planners
- Network with service providers, DMC for companion programs, transfers and activities beyond the host hotel.
- Typical regional sweets
- Destination promotional material.
- Media releases
- Hospitality desk with destination information available throughout the event in conjunction with the Municipal Tourism Board
Support from the Municipal Tourism Board
- Spectacular Welcome at the entrance to Zihuatanejo, with the event's specified logo and text
- A folkloric ballet provided by the Casa de la Cultura, for welcoming receptions or closing ceremony dinners. (This support requires a monetary contribution for transportation and meals for participating children)
- Presence of municipal authorities at the inaugural ceremony.

- Escorts
Observations:
One of the primary advantages of the support structure mentioned above is through a single source, the client can obtain advice and direction regarding their event that will save much time and energy.
The result is a direct link with the service providers needed to organize and fulfill the ultimate conference or meeting in this unique destination

- Event dates
- Estimated number of attendees
- Point of origin of attendees
- Request of required support
- Detailed contact information on Board Members/ Key Stakeholders
